I will buy GW2, unless by some odd twist of fate ANet decides to implement a monthly fee system.

Online reviews are useless anyway, I want to see the game myself. If it's good and makes me play 1000+ hours again $40 is peanuts.

I voted no, have almost 3 years, but I didn't play all the time. Had a total of 8 months of break, and account is 30 months. So 22 months is 1.5 years of total game play. And I think I have ~2000 hours. Most of it during prophecies/factions, when game was still fun. Oh, and pvp. Nightfall much, much less and almost nothing in GWEN. It's just they made a lot of bad decisions since Nightfall came out.

Yes, absolutely. As I have stated on numerous occasions, ArenaNet has my unyielding support. Launch day will see my 50-60 dollars well spent.

I used to played TONS of FPSs so one would think that WASD movement would be godly for me also - but I so got used to using "A" for running forward and then moving my mouse in the direction I want to run in.
Well - plus there is the issue of me doing pretty much PvE only where most of the movement is restricted to C+SPACE.

But seriously - that's one of my main issues for GW2.
Games are made or broken on their control scheme. GW was made - so hopefully we can expect the same thing for GW2. *crosses fingers*

It is a freaking disaster.

I'll get it. Just because I like to buy every fantasy game which isn't 100% terrible. How regularly I'll play it depends on how good it turns out to be.

Big yes from me. Pre-order, CE, the works. Whatever's going. T-shirt too, if they do them in my size

Reason? Over the past 3 years, I've really enjoyed Guild Wars. I'm not fanatic about playing it - overall, less than 2000 hours in the past 36 months, 14 characters and all campaigns/EotN - but I certainly get in a few hours a week each week if I can.

I can't honestly think of any other console/computer game I've got that I can say that about. The various 'great and the good' in video gaming history can suck me in for a month or two and maybe a nostalgia visit several months down the line, but not constantly. Not for 3 years.

Let's take 'Crysis' as a popular example from a few months ago. I spent £35 on that when it came out. Do I regret it? No, not really. It was flashy, it plenty of 'Ooooh!' moments, it was exciting. It only lasted a couple of weeks but it kept me entertained for that time. So even if GW2 only holds my attention for a month, it should still be worthwhile as long as I'm enjoying myself.

Which is, I suppose, the key. We have next to nothing to judge GW2 on in and of itself, we only have GW to go by. That being the case, I'm more than happy to chance it as I've loved Guild Wars.

Other people don't have to feel the same way - that's cool, my enjoyment of the game doesn't require them to.

Peace.

I'm going to try it at the very least, I'll most likely just wait for a trial key to come my way unless reviews are top notch. Don't get me wrong, I love Anet and GW completely but frankly it's stupid to just
rush out and buy a game simply because it's a sequel, and we have no idea what the game will be like compared to GW.

I think it was the MMORPG game in the universe of Star Gate. Star Gate Worlds Online or something like that.

Since GW2 will probably be fee-free I will most likely get it... I hope I 'll be able to get into beta in order to get a better preview of it though.

YES, definately yes. I have very big hopes in GW2.
It will be a perfect opportunity to fix what couldn't be fixed in GW1 and add a ton of totally new stuff.
I will happily roll a Norn, shapeshift into a bear and start massacring everything on my way

Haven't the devs already said that GW2 (PvE at least) will be about more simple skill combinations and more emphasis on specialised mission-specific "skills" - like a lot of the crap PvE-only stuff we saw in EotN - you know, where you have to use a particular "skill" to reveal certain hiddens areas on a map, or use a particular "skill" to break down a particular door in a particular mission.

If so, then I'll probably wait for GW1 to fizzle out, then move on to a different MMO entirely, because GW2 sounds like it's going to be a load of rubbish.

Oh and for all those that are just assuming GW2 will "fix all the problems" of GW1, understand this - what we saw in EotN, i.e. title grinds, "cheat-mode" consumables, and overpowered PvE-only skills that require no synergy with other skills, work independantly of your stats or profession, and that never leave your skillbar no matter what you're doing - all that stuff is just prototyping for GW2.

I haven't voted because I'm taking a wait and see attitude. If I see positive reviews and the game looks fun...well duh! If it just looks like more of the same, then probably not. I've enjoyed playing GW immensely, I'm not investing money into "been there, done that."

I can't give a straight yes or no answer without knowing more about the game. And speculation on Guru doesn't count.

If GW2 is anything like I've read about, I'll definitely get it.

Saying that, their reviews aren't worth much. EotN promised to have brand new armours, in-depth story about the underground Asuran, Gwen and the dwarves? Yeah. 3-4 hours of gameplay, the same dungeons with different bosses and armours that are dyed differently from old campaigns.

I will buy it. I won't be happy tho if it plays more like GWEN than it does like proph.

I'm remembering, ages ago, myself and my team playing the proph mission where you need to find the catapult parts to kill the charr. There on that hill we stood, staring down at the charr army debating and planning for five or ten minutes about our chances of taking them, head on. We decided to try, if we failed, we would regroup and re-enter the mish doing it the right way.

We decided to do it, we wiped, we re-entered and did it the right way and won.

My point: THAT is fun stuff. Options in play, even during linear missions, is very fun. ALL of my most rememberable moments happened in Proph.. why? It was a better game, flat out. Each chapter has gone downhill. Sadly, I don't see GW2 being better. But, I'll play it anyway, for a bit.

I will probably buy it just to see if anet was able to acheive what they claimed to be aiming for by scrapping a forth GW campaign to make GW2.

Whether or not it will be a refreshing new game of choice or a re-hashed GW that makes you start from scratch with a new char and a different control schematic will have to be seen.

I swear at the first sign of another title grinder it's going to be gasoline and a match.

As of this moment, yes.

I reserve the right to revisit this decision if Anet nerfs Ursan, SF, or any other "problems" that are an issue only to a minority of vocal whiners on forum sites.
I don't want to drop another $400 into a game that is decided by those sort instead of the devs, that's why I quit WoW.
